Hiring a Wix agency in 2026: choosing between Wix and Base44 after the Studio Two announcement

Assess Studio Two, Wix and Base44 before hiring an agency. Compare feature availability, technical choices, ongoing management and an illustrative budget.

If you are hiring a Wix agency in 2026, the Studio Two announcement raises practical questions about your platform choice. Does your existing website need to change? Do you need Base44 for an integration? Which features can an agency actually include in a proposal today? Start with the functions your business needs, then check which technology is available and suitable.

At FLOR-IT, we discuss websites and business apps in those practical terms. This article focuses on Studio Two, where Base44 fits, and the implications for budgets and maintenance. A new product announcement is not, by itself, a reason to replace a working website.

Studio Two has a phased rollout

Wix announced Studio Two on 2 November 2026 as an open, AI-native visual editor for professional web creation. The announcement describes a phased rollout, starting with partners. It does not mean every customer or account can use every feature immediately.

Ask an agency to distinguish between an announced feature, one it can actually access, and one that is suitable for your project. Request a demonstration of the most important use case. If the schedule depends on functionality that is not yet available, the proposal should include an alternative.

An existing Wix website does not automatically need to move. Identify the actual gap first: more design control, a particular workflow, an integration or easier editing. Then compare an improvement in the current environment with the cost of rebuilding, testing and handing over a different solution.

Choose Wix and Base44 by the job they need to do

A business website and a business app serve different purposes. A website explains your services and helps visitors enquire, book or buy. An app might allocate requests, display records or support an internal process. Sometimes one platform covers the requirements; sometimes a separate application is useful.

  • For an information-led website: assess pages, languages, forms and editing needs. An additional app platform does not have to be part of the project.
  • For bookings or online sales: ask how the chosen Wix features and any apps support your process, including their limits and subscription costs.
  • For a specific business workflow: investigate whether Base44 or another custom solution addresses a genuine gap. Test the critical step before budgeting for the full application.

The Base44 product changelog lists GPT-6.1 Terra on 28 October 2026 and connector triggers on 29 October. These are Base44 updates. They do not establish that those features are included in Wix or Studio Two, or that connecting the platforms works automatically.

For an integration, specify the data exchanged, access required, usage limits and what happens when the connection fails. Include ongoing costs and responsibility for errors. A working demonstration with test data is more useful than a broad promise of seamless integration.

Set security requirements that match the project

Security requirements depend on your data and processes. A public services page needs different arrangements from an app holding confidential records. Discuss access, data handling, retention and recovery wherever they are relevant.

The Base44 Compliance API is an Enterprise feature providing read-only access for monitoring. It is not a general requirement for an ordinary business website, nor proof that a project meets every legal obligation. Ask why a proposed Enterprise feature is necessary before adding it to the budget.

What should you expect an agency to demonstrate?

Look for experience with the components your project will use. A capable freelancer, an in-house team or an agency can all be suitable. Ask who will do the work, who will review technical decisions and who will be available after handover. A job title or team size alone does not answer those questions.

The FLOR-IT Wix partner profile displays expert badges and a rating of 4.8/5 from 124 reviews on 8 November 2026. It provides evidence of our Wix experience. Assess Base44 experience separately through relevant projects. Review the portfolio as well and discuss a comparable assignment.

For Studio Two, ask which parts have already been tested in practice. A new workflow can start with a limited proof of concept, such as taking one enquiry from a form through to internal handling. Agree what success looks like and which costs would follow before commissioning the full build.

Build a budget with separate line items

The FLOR-IT pricing calculator lists these indicative prices, excluding VAT:

  • Homepage: €500.
  • Additional page: €100 per page.
  • Blog: €180.
  • SEO/GEO optimisation: €250.
  • Annual support: €360.

For example, a homepage and four additional pages total €900 at these prices. Adding a blog and SEO/GEO optimisation brings that to €1,330. Including one year of support gives €1,690, excluding VAT. This is an illustrative calculation, not a quote for a complete custom application.

Wix, Base44 and any other platform subscriptions are additional. Where required, content, translations, migration, integrations and usage charges should also be priced separately. The proposal needs to define annual support. Its price alone does not establish a response time, an SLA or an ongoing content strategy.

SEO and AI visibility need realistic measures

A new editor does not guarantee higher rankings or revenue. Google recommends the existing SEO fundamentals for its AI features and does not require special AI schema markup. Clear content, accessible pages and sound technical settings remain important, but inclusion in AI answers is not guaranteed.

If the website structure or URLs change, prepare a migration plan. Google warns that rankings can fluctuate during a site move. A URL inventory, redirects and checks help manage the risks. Agree which enquiries, bookings or sales to measure so you can assess the website without promising a return on investment.

Frequently asked questions

Should I wait for Studio Two?

Not simply because it has been announced. Check whether a necessary feature is missing from your current options and whether Studio Two makes it available for your project. Base the schedule and fallback plan on that answer.

Do I need Base44 alongside Wix?

Only where a specific use case justifies it. First assess whether existing Wix features can do the job and what an extra platform would add to costs and maintenance.

Can FLOR-IT advise remotely?

Yes. We discuss projects remotely, including with businesses in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Brussels. The required functions and working arrangements matter more than distance.

Discuss the platform choice first

Send your current website, the most important missing function and your intended schedule through our contact page, or book an introductory call. We can discuss which parts suit Wix, where a separate app may help and what needs investigation first.
