Website costs in 2026: a five-page budget example
Plan your website budget with a worked FLOR-IT example. Separate build costs, subscriptions and support, and see what to include in a quote request.
A website's cost goes beyond the build. You may also pay for a platform subscription, domain, business email, paid apps and ongoing support. Below, we work through a simple business website using FLOR-IT's published prices, separating known amounts from the items your quote still needs to address.
A worked example: a five-page website
Suppose you need a homepage, two service pages, an about page and a contact page, in one language, without a shop or custom integrations. Our price calculator lists an indicative €500 for the homepage and €100 per additional page. These prices were checked on 1 November 2026 and exclude VAT. A final quote follows the initial discussion.
| Item | Calculation | Estimate excluding VAT |
|---|---|---|
| Homepage | 1 × €500 | €500 |
| Four additional pages | 4 × €100 | €400 |
| Build subtotal | €500 + €400 | €900 |
| Optional annual support | 1 year | €360 |
| Build plus one year of support | €900 + €360 | €1,260 |
€1,260 is not a complete first-year budget or a binding offer. This example excludes the platform subscription and other third-party costs. Extra design work, writing, translation, data entry or integrations may change the price. Confirm the inclusions: five pages with supplied copy are a different brief from five pages requiring research, photography and copywriting.
What costs sit outside the build?
- Wix subscription: you pay Wix directly; it is excluded from our calculator. Match the plan to the features and capacity you need. Check the renewal price and billing period too.
- Domain and email: list registration, renewal and the number of mailboxes. A temporary domain benefit is not a permanent discount. Wix states that business email is not included in its website plans.
- Apps and transactions: check licence fees, usage limits and any payment-provider charges. A shop module and payment processing are separate cost items.
- Support and changes: agree which tasks and how much time support covers. New pages, campaigns and integrations are not automatically included.
Use this budget formula: year one = build + chosen subscriptions + domain/email + usage and transaction fees + agreed support + expected additional work. Then compare three years, including renewals. Count your own time for content, feedback and product management, even when it does not appear on a supplier's invoice.
What changes the size of a quote?
Page count is a starting point. A multilingual website also needs translation, language review and maintenance for each language. A shop may require product imports, shipping rules, payments and order testing. A booking website needs different checks from an information page. For custom applications, data models, permissions and integrations often matter more than the number of screens.
To control costs, start with the features customers need immediately, prepare copy and images in advance and nominate one person to consolidate feedback. Postponing an optional integration may be wiser than cutting contact-form testing. DIY, a freelancer or an agency can each be suitable; compare their actual approach, availability and handover rather than the label alone.
Buy defined work, not search visibility guarantees
Ask for specific SEO deliverables, such as page titles, internal links, indexability checks and measurement setup. A package labelled SEO/GEO does not itself promise a ranking or a mention in AI answers. Google makes clear that indexing and serving content are not guaranteed. Agree which checks will be performed and which outcomes you will track after launch.
Replacing an existing website? Include an inventory of current URLs, relevant redirects and post-launch checks as separate tasks. Rankings can fluctuate during a migration; correct technical delivery does not guarantee unchanged traffic.
What to send with your quote request
- Your goal, audience, current website and preferred start date.
- A list of pages and languages, including who supplies copy and images.
- Required features and integrations, with product or appointment volumes.
- Your budget for both the build and recurring costs.
- Who will maintain the website and what support you need after handover.
